Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible consists of both the Old and New Testament and is the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His bodily and physical life on Earth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His substitutionary and atoning death (see 1 John 2:2), which has satisfied God’s wrath through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the church, and in His eventual, personal return in power and glory.
We believe that in love, God predestined the salvation of lost and sinful human beings, who are regenerated and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the present, active, and ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection and judgment of both the saved and the lost. The saved are judged into life everlasting. The lost are judged into damnation.
We believe in the spiritual adoption of believers into the family of our Lord Jesus Christ, making us co-heirs with Christ and brothers and sisters with all believers, regardless of race, ethnic background, or economic status.
We believe that the Gospel is “the power of God unto salvation” and that it is the power of God for sanctification. The more deeply we are grasped by the depth of God’s love, by His Grace as demonstrated at the cross, the more we will live according to it. The more we understand God’s Grace towards us, the more we will live for His glory and honor.
We believe in God’s continuing redemptive work to redeem and restore all things that were created good but became damaged and broken as a result of human sin (see Colossians 1:20).
We believe that God has established His Church in the world, one and the same in all ages, under the gospel, and has endowed it with the ministry of the Word, deed, and prayer.
We believe that there are two sacraments: baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which are the means by which we ordinarily enjoy His grace. We believe that the Church is the primary instrument through which God is fulfilling His redemptive purposes throughout the earth. We seek to work through the church to equip the saints for the work of ministry in vital partnership with Church leaders whom God has ordained to steward the church and expand His kingdom.
We affirm the priesthood of all believers and the importance of every Christian being joined with and actively involved in a local community of the saints. We believe that the body of believers under Christ’s headship are called and gifted to proclaim the gospel and carry out all the works of the kingdom.
Lastly, we believe the covenant of marriage to be between a man and a woman, who are joined together under the supervision of God. We believe that only in the context of this union should sexual intimacy be enjoyed.
